LITTLE FREE LIBRARY
A community Art project
ART13 is pleased to welcome artists to participate in this rewarding project.
We have teamed up with the City of Fort Lauderdale Volunteer Opportunities Department, in specific The Little Free Library Project.
We are accepting applications for artist to to paint a Free Little Library during ART13. Art should be tasteful and pleasing to the public eye.
The little free library is an international movement with a simple concept take a book - share a book. The goal is to have a free little library available to any kid  and or adult no less than 10 minutes away from where they live.
We encourage artist to engage  with guests in conversation so we can educated about the program as well as solicit for anyone that lives in the Fort Lauderdale area to become a steward.
Once completed if you live in the Fort Lauderdale area we highly recommend YOU becoming a steward and have your own creation installed in front of your home.Â
This event will take place Saturday March 8, 2020. The city will provide the library boxes, tents and tables. Artists will provide their paint and brushes. All of the participating artists and Libraries will be staged at Scott Leatherman State Farm Insurance Agency parking lot 611 NE 13 Street Fort Lauderdale.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Promoting Literacy in Fort Lauderdale
Once the Little Free Library are decked out. The City of Fort Lauderdale ask its citizens to become a Free Little Library Steward. Adopting a Little Free Library is easy; the city will provide you with a finished Little Library, install it and will supply books for it.
Books are free for all in the Little Free Library exchange. Anyone can borrow a title from the handcrafted, standalone structures that look like giant bird houses. No registration, fees or late charges ever apply.
When finished with a book, simply return it to any Little Free Library, or pass it on to someone else.
